RM Bridge Modeler Help

RM Bridge export

The definitions made at cross sections, segments and their points are used to generate a structural system in RM Bridge.

The database of RM Bridge is written directly without using any intermediate ASCII files.

SettingDescription
Destination directory

The edit box shows the chosen project directory of RM Bridge. It can be modified by editing the edit box directly or by using the arrow symbol.

Pressing this arrow, a common Windows® dialogue for selecting a file is shown. The file filter (*.rm9) has not to be changed. Only a directory has to be set or create.

Cross sections

So named FE-cross sections are produced in RM Modeler. They will be taken over to RM Bridge to define the cross sections for the beams. The names of the FE-cross will be enumerated in ascending order. It is possible to transfer cross sections to RM Bridge without transferring beams.

Elements

Beam elements, their nodes and the cross section assignment will be passed to RM Bridge. The definition elements and nodes are made by the input in the segment point window.

The segments are checked and the FE-cross section are calculated if necessary before exporting them to RM Bridge.

An export of the elements requires always an export of cross sections. All segments or only the active segment that is shown in the edit box at the top of the program window may be exported.

Tendon scheme

Based on grid points and entered tendon information, tendons will be created in the RM model.

TCL-Scripts

TCL-Scripts can be started before and/or after the export of the data to RM Bridge This may be helpful when the user wants to initialize the RM database first or to make some cable-definitions afterward.

Initialize RM-project

Existing cross sections, elements and nodes will always be overwritten by the export. Other data will be kept if the RM-project if the initialization is not corresponding options has to be switched off. Then, confirmations will be used.
